This kit can be nice with some work. Alot of detailing needs to b done to make it look anything like the pictures and the decals can be a problem putting on and sticking. Other than that very nice and comes with its own display stand. (Posted on 3/18/12)Design Value Quality - Nice, but needs a little work. Review by Drillizer

Ah, Son Goku. After the MG Son Goku first came out, I'm pretty sure they were a lot of people expecting a Super Saiyan version to come out, and indeed it did. However, while on it's own it's a pleasing model, it leaves a few things to be desired. First off, starting with poseability, the arms, head, and waist all have a good deal of rotation and poseability, Now the legs on the other hand, give a few issues. You see, with Gundams, thanks to the hip design, it allows a good deal of stability and a reasonable degree of rotation. As for Goku's legs? They're attatched to a socket-like "T" shaped hip. of course, since this is a human-like model, this is to be expected for realism. As a result, however, the legs have an expected yet somewhat limited movement range. Not only this, but the ability for them to evenly distribute weight on them when having the legs spread out a bit wider is very low(which is compounded by the fact that thanks to the hair, Goku's a bit top-heavy), meaning the included stand is a necessity for certain ground poses. Though thanks to the stand, the leg issues are compensated for. Moving on to detail, the sheer amount of it is fantastic. The tetail of the model is such that there's almost no need to add any paint besides getting rid of residual cut-marks. Not only that, but when you flex the arms, his biceps also bulge, which is a nice touch. The detail also extends to the hands, which, while nice, requires that the hands have no moving fingers, and connect to the arms with an odd tear drop shape that dosen't stay in too well but should work fine if you don't move it all the time. With all that being said, the model is a nice piece despite it's kinks, especially if you're a DBZ fan. Though seeing as the model uses almost the exact same frames from it's predecessor, it makes one wonder why they couldn't have just bundled in the hair, extra faces, and torn clothing pieces with the original (Hint: it makes them more money). Ah, Goku! What more can I say other than that???? This is a great piece of DBZ merchandise to add or even to start off an already great or even new collection of any collector. Whether collecting for years or just starting this piece can do it all for your collection. (Posted on 9/17/10)Value Quality Design
