The Gundam Pixy - A Pixie This is a funny one, folks! While the kit itself is a fantastic construction with some cool weapons and gimmicks, the fact that this thing is a P-Bandai exclusive is astounding - and not in a good way.
The design is striking and there are only minor color accuracy issues that can be remedied with the given stickers - the grey sections at the bottom of the shin plate, and the dark part on the front of the collar. It doesn’t suffer from any aging issues, and all the parts are moulded very well!
The addition of Beam Uzis and in-motion beam effects is one of the big selling points of this kit. We’re used to bazookas and machineguns, sniper rifles and shotguns, beam spray guns and all manner of beam tech. But this thing just straight-up as a pair of Uzis that shoot lasers. If you aren’t hitting “I want it!” right now, I don’t even wanna know you. It also comes with VERY impressive beam saber effects for it’s two beam daggers/shortswords, giving it the appearance of a saber in mid-swing. The beam sabers also attach onto the bottom of the beam Uzi’s clip for that quadruple whammie!
HOWEVER - and this is a BIG however - this kit is 40 USD. That’s more than a HG Full Armour Unicorn Gundam in *either* Psycoframe color. It’s almost the same price as HG Zaku II + Big Gun from ‘MSG: Thunderbolt’. And all you’re getting is one stylish Gundam, some nice effect parts and a box in one color.
If you’re willing to spend the money, you won’t be disappointed. Just don’t look at it when it’s finished and finally ask yourself “Was it worth it?”
Oh, and the pilot’s name is Bork Cry. That’s not a selling point, but it should be!
Good Model, Not Worth Being Premium Articulation is good, armaments and accessories are wanting (But then again this model isn't known for being decked out) but goodness gracious, this is a brand new mold, WHY WOULD YOU MAKE IT PREMIUM!? It's like Bandai WANTS to annoy us.
Great Model, Not Worth Being a Premium The little UZI's are cool, the flame-esque effect parts make it fun to pose, and the articulation is great.
BUT THIS IS NOT WORTH 40 DOLLARS. The amount of plastic in this model is maybe worth about the same as an HG Leo, hardly any substance at all aside from an awesome mech body.
Finishing: Top Coat/Super Clear
