Bring on the balls!
I want 2 of these.
The EFSF and Bandai both cheaped out on this Mass Production unit On the one hand it's nice that this joke unit even gets the Master Grade treatment. There's a lot, possibly too much, interior detail on the frame, so they really went all in on making what would be the definitive Ball model. It's just that...
This isn't a good Gunpla. It has poorly fitting parts, obvious seamlines and even mold lines on some parts, and the decision to have visible parts cast in rubber polycap material seems bizarre to me considering how those bits are basically ruined if they get any scratches on them. Based on the interior design I feel like this kit was intended for a skilled modeler looking to do heavy customization, like a 50/50 cutaway view. The wires for the graspers and the metal parts are a nice touch, but this kit is going to require some work put into it to look decent.
Came broken The model itself seems fine but when I opened the box one plate was not in a bag which is not something you never see with gunpla. I checked the plates to make sure all the parts were there and they seemed to be. It wasn't till I was building it that I noticed the cover for the rear rockets was broken. Worse than that, the broken off piece wasn't even in the box So I coulnd't fix it if I wanted to. Other than that it's a good model. Lots of part separation and easy to detail.
Consider this an update After contacting Gundam Planet, they helped me get a replacement part. Not something they usually do but they happened to have one. That said, this is a pretty good MG. Price is good, fun to build, all that jazz. If you're not sure you want to get into master grades, give this a shot.
