Best of the best (unless you want screen accuracy) Let me just get this out of the way first: The two tone grey panels on what has traditionally been an almost all white mobile suit is a bit off putting for me. That said? An amazing kit. I've built every version number of the classic RX-78-2 over the years and each has it's charms (well, except the original... that one is... a model you can buy?). The detail is insane on this model. The core fighter is the best Bandai has put out to date. As for the mobile suit, it's highly posable, especially the arms. This kit is built with a spot for the model light kit module and has all the needed light piping. As an added bonus, I believe this is the model they used as reference for the Ready Player One movie, so there's that. While the hands are a bit noodle like, they DO hold all the weapons wonderfully.

A modern looking classic Gundam I can recommend this model for everyone. The first real sized Odaiba model design. This will be satisfied for both style and articulate lovers. Without painting you can get great looking.

Shoulders.... The RX-78-2 ver 3.0 is a good kit as an entry to MG series. I would have to knock off a star for quality due to the fact that the torso and cockpit assembly is a bit loose and becomes hard to pose without the shoulder armor popping off. The upper and lower torso is also hollow and doesn't feel robust. I cant stand the way the shoulder armor attaches to the arms either, make something similar to how Zaku armor mounts to its chassis. With all the negatives out of the way. This is still my favorite kit of all time.

A beautiful and detailed model of the granddaddy All in all this was a great build, and looks amazing on my shelf. Some small parts (especially the V-fin and rear camera lens) just wouldn't stay in place and needed glue. The arms are also kind of a pain to build - very, very fiddly.
Besides those issues though I had a blast building this and am very glad to have it in my collection.Comment Thank you for your feedback! You already voted Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again -

Overall amazing kit! Very fun and detailed build! Posability is amazing and the detail on the inside frame and outside armor is out of this world. The hands are fully articulate (which is great to me) which may make putting the weapons in hand a little awkward or frustrating to some. I do wish the decals were at least dry transfer but the slap n' stick ones don't bother me too much. Other than that this kit is great and I would it recommend to any intermediate builder.

Great kit! Really fun master grade, but definitely needs those LEDs to complete the design

Grand Daddy has never LOOKED better... sadly looks is what this kit has going for it.....the color separation is fantastic and the overall design but it's not the best of the RX-78-2's out there. The articulation isn't great because the unit feels so loose. If you're a skilled builder you're good but if it's your first MG kit...I would wait a little before getting it.
