From the anime series "Mobile Police Patlabor" comes a 1/60 scale plastic model kit of the AV-X0 Type Zero! The robot has been carefully recreated based on its appearance from the series. The model features several point of articulation, and various parts like its shield, an interchangeable part for recreating its spear hand and interchangeable face open parts are all included so you can recreate all kinds of scenes. The model is made from ABS and PS plastic. Its various parts have been separated into different colored runners, and pre-painted parts and water-slide decals are included, making it easy to recreate the robot from the series with a simple assembly.

Break the law in style This is a super slick looking, neat kit that I had a lot more fun with than I anticipated.
To start, quality. This is overall pretty on point; the plastic is nice and cleans up beautifully, and the prepainted parts were mostly clear of blemishes save for a small bit of folding on one of the shoulder bits. The instruction manual is clear and the illustrations are sharp, though sometimes parts are much larger in it than they actually are, which can be confusing if you cut out a bunch of pieces before assembling like me. Something cool to note is that the armor plating pieces have "R" and "L" molded on the inside to denote what goes where -- this is super appreciated and makes assembly that much easier.
Speaking of assembly, it's not too bad. There are some tight tolerances that can make it a bit strange if you miss the orientation of something in the manual, but overall I'd say it's about on par with a High Grade. Size wise, it's a fair bit larger than the standard HG Granddaddy and a small amount taller than a HG Delta Plus. I didn't grab my RG Nu to compare with, but it's probably around there, if a bit shorter.
Value is a bit tricky. The build is fun and the finished product looks great -- even better I assume with the sizable amount of waterslide decals (which I haven't applied yet) -- and the plastic is beautiful to work with, but the smaller size and lack of included accessories (barring the shield, extra head, and a bevy of hands) may disappoint some people. The price is the hardest thing to swallow, but given that MODEROID is a smaller brand (making it more difficult to leverage economies of scale to bring individual kit prices down) and taking into account the prepainted parts and waterslides, it's not bad in my opinion. I didn't feel shortchanged at all by the kit and I wouldn't be opposed to picking up other kits from this line.Comment Thank you for your feedback!
