GUIDE for Beginners

Lvl 1 : Try a couple of our Level 1 model kits. No tools are required. These "touch gate" snap-fit models are perfect for starters.

Lvl 2 : Next try HG models. High Grades have a lot of play value upon completion, but don't forget you'll need basic tools!

Lvl 3 : To continue building more models, you can build a collection of tools to make the process smoother and easier.

Lvl 4 : Once the kit is built, you can make it look better with a variety of methods like panel lining, top coating, and applying decals!

Mr. Premium Top Coat (gloss) Spray Type - This top coat works well and delivers a great glossy finish. It does appear to be slightly more clear than the Mr. Top Coat (gloss) – even shines a bit more. It leaves an even surface that works well for doing panel line washes...that stuff will flow through those little lines seemingly FOREVER. Of course, you may leave it as is if your prefer a gloss finish on your project. The finish seems durable enough, but I do not move my kits around much once finished. One thing I have not tried, however am wary about, is applying anything lacquer based over it. I have seen it done, but through an airbrush in very light coats. I haven't experienced any frosting issues with this spray, although it's not the matte version. I've been following the "rules" and avoiding humid days, as well as spraying from 15 - 20 cm away from any pieces/parts using light, misting coats. As for the cost...yes, it is $10. Remember what you are paying for: a premium (ha) product that is being shipped from Japan in an aerosol format. In other words, you are paying for convenience. When you take all this into account, it's fair. Thanks for reading!
