Mobile Police Patlabor

The dream of the ‘90s is alive in Patlabor! As the 20th century draws to a close, the innovation of piloted robots called “Labors” has sparked a new technological revolution. Labors rapidly proliferate in Japan to aid in ambitious new land development projects, but it comes with a price: the new phenomenon of Labor crime. Not to be left behind, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department faces down this emerging threat by creating Special Vehicles Unit Section 2 (SV2), a new anti-Labor crime unit complete with specialized Patrol Labors —  Patlabor for short. Originally viewed as little more than a PR stunt, the SV2’s misfit officers soon find they’ll have to deal with industrial espionage, terrorism, and even the occasional monster alongside the usual disgruntled Labor pilot or DUI.
