Brand Gundam Planet
Great nippers! I began shopping through Gundam Planet because I had read these nippers were a great choice. I agree, they are great!
I will say that I am on my second pair because my first pair broke. I take the responsibility because I was using them as my only nipper and treated them pretty rough.
This has a single blade and the other side is dull. The blade part is very thin, which is what gives it the ability to cut so easily without leaving huge stress marks like thicker double edge nippers. I was using these to cut at all kinds of funny angles and through the thicker parts of the gates when removing the pieces from the runners. They could handle the beating at first but then the blade began to bend a little more when cutting through thick pieces and eventually it chipped pretty bad.
Now I first use a Mr. Nipper Cutter (also sold through Gundam Planet. The one with the green handle) to cut the pieces out of the runners and then I cut the nubs off with these side cutters. I am hoping that this strategy will significantly increase the lifespan of my second pair.
These are great and I hope this review helps anyone considering purchasing these.
On par with Godhands!! I LOVE these nippers! Ive had them for over a year and they still cut phenomenally. At our build days I'll often swap nippers with someone who is asking about what nippers to buy next. they all say that these cut like butter. Even Godhand owners hesitantly admit that the GP nippers cut just about as smooth as Godhands. The value of the GP nippers was exactly what I was looking for since I couldnt see myself spending $80 (at the time) on nippers. Not to mention that they always seemed to be out of stock and I had heard horror stories of the Godhands breaking after only a few uses. I understand that Godhands are a Precision Tool but whatever the GP nippers lack in precision, they make up for in durability and value!
Great cutters and a great value In terms of quality and value for money, these are easily as good as the Tamiya Side Cutters. I've owned four pairs of these over the last few years, and the one time I had a problem (manufacturing defect in the metal; totally invisible), GP's customer service responded instantly and sent a new pair completely for free, even though I'd bought the original on Amazon. If there's a sale on, or a free shipping deal, you simply cannot go wrong with these. For the money and the value, these are the best nippers going, as far as I'm concerned.
Awesome Nippers If your looking for a great quality near or equal to the God Hands Nippers but for a fair price then you cant go wrong with this they are a great investment if you used them properly and take care of them it would be a long time for a replacement.
Best cutters I've ever used! The Gundam Planet side cutters are amazing! Because of these building gunpla has become so much more efficient for me - I no longer require an exacto to cut off excess remaining funner nubs at all! Just straight to a little bit of sand paper and boom! done! So glad I have these now!
really good stuff these are comparable in quality of cut to god hands, but more robust so they will last longer. ive had mine for 2 years, and while they have seen better days, they have out lasted my first pair of god hands. if they ever come back in stock i may buy 2.
