HG RX-78-01(N) Gundam Local Type (Gundam The Origin Ver.) Not sure how they made so many Prototypes of a single suit, but I still like this one.
The newest suit in this line is the Gundam Local Type, which is some crazy RX-78/Blue Destiny fusion! The kit features a new type of machinegun, a medium shield, two beam sabers with effect parts and plenty of tetron seal marking stickers for added detail!

A must own P-Bandai kit if you want to have a MS evolution line collection! The RX-78-01 [N] Local Type in the Gundam Origin's universe is the predecessor to the RGM/RX-79 [G] units from MS 08th team and the Aqua RGM/RX from MSV of the original Universal Century. This kit is basically prototype unit that comes with a 100 MM machine gun and a claw shield with 2 slots to hold the beam sabers.
The pros.
- Articulation is decent for a HG kit.
- For a P-Bandai it is cheap between 20 to 25 bucks and hoping it stay that way for re-release.
- This kit truly shine when you have interchangeable weapons and parts from other kits such as the RX-78-01 [N] North American and Full Scale Development type, which comes with a arm mounted mini gun, 5 thruster backpack with slots up to two beam sabers or room for a shoulder mounted cannon. So far compatibility with weapons from other origin kits and gundam 0083 kits works.
The cons.
- The stickers are too small that you require a tweezer to set them in place. Sometime they fall off that you either need water mark decals, glue to hold them in, or just used paint for certain areas.
- Despite being the predecessor for the RGM/RX-79 [G] unit and even the Blue Destiny units, the only compatible parts so far are the standard mass production weapons. The backpack and shield from those other kits have different connector slots that it won't fit.Comment Thank you for your feedback! You already voted Sorry, we failed to record your vote. The head looks a bit tiny lol This is a cool predecessor to the RX-79[G], and really looks and feels the part. This kit builds up a little fragile, and the head seems a bit small, but it looks really good when built up and detailed. There is a clear red visor for the eyes that looks fantastic. I hate most of the tiny stickers, but they are mostly for details you can paint. Otherwise just use an x-acto knife tip to hold and position them.
