An excellent kit for beginners and experienced modelers alike Sharp, detailed, stable, and posable. This is a great all-around kit that might not innovate but gets all the important things right.
It's definitely one of the best looking kits in the HG line, borrowing all of the detail and styling of it's MG counterpart, brought down to 1/144 scale. The color and parts separation obviously won't hold up to the MG but there are lots of panel lines and small details, and with a little work it can look almost as good. There's a sheet of sticker decals included, just like with the MG. I choose to use third party waterslide decals but the inclusion of RG-style stickers will surely be a nice bonus for beginners.
The construction is nothing unusual, about what you would expect from the line, with polycaps and ball joints galore, but it does an excellent job of hiding it's seam lines (some remain on the weapons but aren't too bad) and the articulation is quite good, and the separated knee bend is an especially nice touch. While the G40 and Beyond Global versions innovate with new construction and advanced articulation, the Origins version feels more like what you would expect from an HG, but it's solid, stable and easy to pose.
There are some optional/alternate parts included. The manual offers directions for two different types, but you can obviously mix and match as you see fit. These include alternate chest parts, shoulder weapons, a back-mounted cannon, and shoulder handles. These variants are a nice bonus not even included in the MG.
With paint, panel lining, and decals applied, this kit barely looks like a HG at all, and can easily sit next to my RGs and not look out of place thanks to the crisp details and realistic styling. The only other kit I can say that for is Moon Gundam.
Amazing second gunpla kit! This is only my second kit, but it's absolutely amazing! I love the level of detail in this model. I have to recommend panel lining it, as it has so much detail just waiting to be revealed. I also love the armor seperation when you bend the legs. The shoulder cannon is a bit loose, and the right shooting hand doesn't hold together very well when holding stuff on my kit. I imagine I just have to thicken the posts on them, and they'll be fine. I also love that it comes with sticker style decals, but I have shacky hands, so putting them on is a bit harder than it would be for others. Overall, this kit got me addicted to this hobby, and I can't wait to build my next one!
Nice Kit, lots of options Pretty decent to pose, it comes with several weapons. You may want to glue the small red peice on its head, that can come off if your not careful. The additional pieces for an early version means you can customize the look of it some too.
Amazing HG I love that this kit gives you the choice of two different versions to build. The differences are usually pretty subtle but the choices allow for people to make simple custom choices. This model also has great joint movement and can really stance up
Well I'm getting this! The "Origin" series of models have been my Favorite so far! Getting back into the hobby, I've been finishing Char's custom Zaku II have been having the greatest time with it!
Details, details One of the better renditions of this suit. This version has the distinction of being the most detailed: knee vents, calf boosters, wrist guns, shoulder Gatling, etc.
Best HG of 2020? This is a very good kit. It's very poseable, great color separation and comes with quite a lot of equipment. This kit's also incredibly clean, with very few egregious seamlines. Even the stickers aren't a major pain and pretty easy to put on.
All in all, a very strong contender for the best High Grade of the year.
Fantastic version of the Rx-78 gundam This is my first rx-78 Gundam and I am so happy that it was the Origin version. Great articulation, lots of details in terms of panel lines, weapons, and color separation. The only negative would be that the price is a little high for a high grade, but if you can afford it, it would be more than worth it.
Finishing: Top Coat/Super Clear
