Befitting a Knight I have not built the original YMS-15 Gyan kit released by Bandai, but this one is wonderful. The articulation is sturdy and robust, and the figure has a good weighty feel to it, even without its considerable shield. The shield is in fact the only complaint I have, making the suit a little hard to balance, a factor not helped by its propensity to swing around a bit. Nonetheless, this was a delight to put together, looks nice, and is an excellent beginner kit. I should know - I am one!
Surpasses Expectations! Excellent kit! Fun to build, fun to pose, lots of customization potential. Having built the oldschool HGUC Gyan this is exactly the upgrade we needed.
great kit This was one of the earlier kits i built so i'll probably buy another to build it more cleanly. i loved the design and assembly of this good ol stovepipe knight suit. it can pull off some great poses, and has a simple but fun build
M'Quve would be proud A simple kit for beginners, the 1/144 YMS-15 Gyan HGUC Revive kit definitely demonstrates how it could rival the Gouf for the spot of Zeon's Close Combat mobile suit. I didn't feel the need to add panel lining, but always recommended. Like the RX-78-2 Gundam, this is an extremely robust kit, with amazing poseability, the Gyan will not disappoint!
An Unexpected Favorite I never really liked the Gyan until I got the Krieger. From there I purchased the Gyan Revive, and I have to say... I love this kit SO much more than I thought I was going to. The poseability, articulation, flexibility, design, and build quality is all MIND BLOWING for this 13 dollar price point. Absolutely recommend.
Great model, low price. Another great revive model.
The Gyan is a regal/knight mobile suit meant to reflect the character M'Queve's aesthetic and personality. It kind of stands out from most of the other 0079 suits, but it's not entirely out of place.
The real value of this kit is the articulation. Posing with this thing is insanely fun. Not only does everything bend nice and easy, the parts stay on no matter what, and it stands great without a display.
Both of the weapons are fantastic.
The Shield, large and powerful, can be posed in a two positions, either in front of his fist, or on the side of his wrist. It commands a ton of attention.
A real great feature is the beam saber. Unlike most kits which are just a white stick with a pink piece on top, this thing has a great looking cross guard, a thick yellow beam, and the Gyan is fitted with a hand piece specific to it's kit that allows it to strike a more 'rapier' style pose pointing forward.
I'm going to knock the aesthetic down just a bit, because the red of the shield doesn't match the purple/blue/gold color scheme of the rest of the suit, but I myself just used a red gundam marker to re-color the joints to make it feel more unified with the rest of the design.
