This thing is now my mascot!!! I was skeptical at first about this kit solely for the clear parts this version comes with. But once I found out they're optional, I got this right away! The design is very intricate and stylish, and the proportions make it look tough and agile. Especially in the legs. Its shoulders and arms have great mobility, too, ass it can even cross its arms with enough patience! The biggest selling point besides its wide posability are its swords, Gerbera Straight and Tiger Pierce. Silver-plated they look like actual steel to the eye!
The Tactical Arms II-L is very versatile and stable, but makes the Astray itself very back-heavy. I keep mine in V-Form, as it distributes the weight the best. This is the most advanced MG I've done yet, and is a great display piece for... whatever! Just get it!!! (From old GP site by OZKai at Nov 2010)
Amazing design This kit takes a while to build only because it has so much to offer. Anyone who's a fan of seed or samurai should get this kit. Such a striking design to have on display.
Amazing Astray Gunpla A great kit for fans of the the Gundam Astray Red Frame. 99% of the kit went together easily, however some parts even with tabs shaved off were not easy to fit together, like prices would move while putting together, and are fragile even when being as careful as possible. The arms and fin fall off with while positioning to do poses.
Otherwise a must have for fans of the Gundam Astray Red Frame.
A Solid Red Frame Despite the fact that this is a slightly older kit compared to most other modern MG's, this kit stands out in a few key aspects: fine detailing, joint strength, and posing variety.
I'll just come out and say, I feel like the giant Buster Sword form that the Tactical Arms II can turn into is quite possibly the most beautiful thing to ever be held by the good ole' Red Frame. Now now, the Katana's are still beautiful beyond words, but just seeing this beast of a kit holding up such a comparatively monolithic weapon just sells this kit for me in every way. Fortunately, they even include a neat little stand to assist in holding up the T-A-II, which works with every single form it can assume. Work form, bow form, whatever your little heart desires!
As stated originally, the detailing on 80% of all the pieces is truly MG quality. I'd recommend going for Panel Lining Liquid instead of just going over this kit with a Gundam Marker, you'll be saving yourself a lot of time and patience! Once panel lined up, the beauty this kit radiates is basically tripled when examining it up close. Match this with the dry transfer and marking sticker decals you get, and you get arguably one of the best looking MG's to date, hands down.
If I did have to give some form of gripe with the kit, I'd say that the hands (more specifically the thumbs) can't hold the actual T-A-II attached unassisted, but hey, that's why Bandai gave you the additional action base to use as support for it. Pro tip, pose the T-A-II however you want on the base first, and simply attach the hands to the peg holes afterwards!
Amazing design My first Master Grade Gundam that I bought in the store in New Jersey. Nice quality and well worth the money, The sword is large enough for me to hold (fairly comfortably) in my hand. 15/15
Great model set This was a fun build when I got it, the size of it is massive and perfect. My first build after years of not doing them, a great one to do with your kids if you have them as well.
