This thing is now my mascot!!! I was skeptical at first about this kit solely for the clear parts this version comes with. But once I found out they're optional, I got this right away! The design is very intricate and stylish, and the proportions make it look tough and agile. Especially in the legs. Its shoulders and arms have great mobility, too, ass it can even cross its arms with enough patience! The biggest selling point besides its wide posability are its swords, Gerbera Straight and Tiger Pierce. Silver-plated they look like actual steel to the eye!
The Tactical Arms II-L is very versatile and stable, but makes the Astray itself very back-heavy. I keep mine in V-Form, as it distributes the weight the best. This is the most advanced MG I've done yet, and is a great display piece for... whatever! Just get it!!! (From old GP site by OZKai at Nov 2010)
Amazing design This kit takes a while to build only because it has so much to offer. Anyone who's a fan of seed or samurai should get this kit. Such a striking design to have on display.
Amazing Astray Gunpla A great kit for fans of the the Gundam Astray Red Frame. 99% of the kit went together easily, however some parts even with tabs shaved off were not easy to fit together, like prices would move while putting together, and are fragile even when being as careful as possible. The arms and fin fall off with while positioning to do poses.
Otherwise a must have for fans of the Gundam Astray Red Frame.
I Bought this Twice! don't ask me why, i mean it's a master grade, and frankly it's very expensive and i would consider it an impulsive move, but that's not what we've gather here to talk about. this is a great kit, even by MG standards, it has perfect articulation, it has a big giant sword, and it is dapper af. really the only problem is that the thumb tends to pop off when you're posing the weapons. otherwise, absolutely stunning
Fun Build, Awesome Kit, Somewhat Finicky Pieces I purchased the Astray Red Frame as my COVID-19 lockdown project. Gundam Planet shipped fast and I received the kit within a few days of ordering. The kit has a large amount of accessories and is generally very well detailed. In addition to the dry-rub decals and sticker decals that came with the kit, I also panel lined and painted it. The whole process was rewarding and fun. That said, there were quite a few frustrating moments as the high detail of the kit means there are quite a few finicky pieces that don't quite work well together. The overall weight is also a problem, as the accessories simply are too big for the model and cause toppling issues. Thankfully, the model is very well articulated and can be posed in a variety of shapes that can offset some of the weight issues. The kit comes with a Gunpla base for posing, but that base is very light and not held together well, meaning it tends to tip if you are not cautious. These are very minor details in what is actually a cool kit with lots of visually rewarding aesthetic characteristics.
Love this kit! Just finished at this was a great build. I don’t get too involved with painting but I’m off my feet due to surgery & have been building Gunpla.
MG Astray Red Frame Kai Before getting into this kit, I'll admit I built the Astray Red Dragon first, so after building this kit I couldnt help but feeling kind of disappointed. Maybe I'm biased towards the Red Dragon, but I just feel the backpack in the Dragon suit the Red Frame better than the backpack in this one. Despite that though, like all Astrays, the articulation is god tear, looks are fricken amazing, and overall is a good kit. I do like me some Astrays. However going back to the backpack unit, I feel as though the tactical arms just doesnt suit this kit. It sticks out from the back too much where it doesnt look that good, personally I loved the whole V/Delta backpack design in the manga so I was a little disappointed when the finished thing doesnt work quite well. The sword form and bow form are quite good though, just heavy. But the back pack just doesnt work for me. Again the Red Frame Kai is quite good, just in my opinion if you wanted the tactical arms get the MG Blue Frame Second Resvise or the MG Turn Red Astray cause I feel the tactical arms in general better suit those kits. But if you want a bad ass Astray Red Frame with 2 katana, then go for this one. Still a 9.5/10 from me. Overall an amazing kit. I just dont like how the backpack versions turned out on this kit.
Great kit, definitely a must have!!! Absolutely beautiful MS. The Gerbera Straight and Tiger Pierce
alone are reason enough to own this beauty. The TA II system make this MS even better. Insane articulation top off a great MS kit.
