Great Build Quality Generally, the quality of this build is incredible, never feels like it will fall apart while posing it. The only down side is that the hands feel substandard. Only the thumb is posable and the connection for the rest of the finger pieces is really weak. Once I paint and top coat it, I will probably glue the trigger finger part into place with the sniper rifle because I doubt it will stay connected any other way.
On another note, the little details are what sells this piece. The ankles have "superfluous" piston pieces that move in and out as you move and/or rotate the ankle. I would recommend this kit to both experts who like to customize their builds (as it offers plenty of opportunity) and to beginners looking to build a high quality kit that doesn't impose great difficulty.
Amazing Build I'll be honest, I got this kit just so I had a third grunt unit for a diorama I've been planning. However, I must say, I was thoroughly surprised at the sturdiness and flexibility of this kit. I mainly build mobile suits that are agility based (Strike, Exia, 00, MK-II etc...) so I really thought it would have the articulation of a bulky kit. It's lead me to find other variations of the RGM-79 so I could kitbash to make my own. Unfortunately, the new hands don't leave much choice for hand posing but that's probably the only grudge I have.
As good as everyone says! It's a great kit! It looks fantastic, the build was straightforward, and everything seemed well designed. Great price too, pretty much in line with other grunt master grades, if not slightly better. Totally worth it!
Beautiful, Absolutely Amazing I ordered two of these, and all I can really say is they're *wonderful*, building them was more than satisfying, and surprisingly simple compared to many other MG kits, and the finished product has stability and sturdiness that has to be seen to be believed. The relatively plain look of the finished models still looks quite wonderful even without much customization beyond straight-building, and the little details tucked away in the knee and ankle joints that add to the overall "feel" that these machines are, indeed, machines.
My only complaint would be the hands that are, in my opinion, substandard and may be a tad finicky to attach and even more irritating to try and keep it on. Otherwise, this kit would be great for trying to find a starting MG, or more experienced builders looking for a good base for customization.
Buy if you can Amazing kit. Amazing details. i love everything about this kit. only thing i wish was different would be the front skirts, wish it had better detailing
My first build Great, very enjoyable even as a first/entry build. The only thing that I had a hard time with was positioning the arms. Despite how many times I fastened the joints from the elbow and the shoulder, it kept loosening up every time I tried to articulate the arms. Perhaps it was just me being so new to gunpla... ^^; Anyway, still fun and looks great.
One of the best 2.0s First things first, for those few worried: this is absolutely not a recolor or even a parts variant of the GM Sniper Custom. They are completely different kits in every way, and both worthy of the build time.
That out of the way, this is easily one of the best 2.0 kits Bandai has released. The articulation is spot on, the visor has a menacing look when it's lowered, the little bipod on the rifle... for me, it's all about the tiny details Bandai carefully reproduced, and this one does not disappoint
The GM Sniper II, the Scarlet Team's elite mobile suit, has now launched in the MG line-up! The model kit incorporates a new waist-mobility gimmick that enables it to smoothly recreate a sniping pose. In addition to this, the range of movement in the shoulder has been increased, allowing the model kit ease of movement. The sensor part has been recreated using clear parts and the visor can also be opened or closed. New designs have been used to create the Mobile Suit's weapons and accessories. A right hand part with a cocked finger is included to add realism to the Sniper Rifle pose.
Set includes Sniper rifle x1, Bullpup machine gun x1, shield x1, beam saber x2, machine gun magazines x3, gun-wielding hand (right) x1, clenched hand (left and right) x1 each, clenched hand for weapons (left and right) x1 each, open hand (left and right) x1 each, and pilot figurine x1. Runner x16. Foil sticker x1. Marking sticker x1. Instruction manual x1.
