Looks amazing but poor engineering First I want to say that I do love how the completed kit looks. The glossy plastic is a cool affect, and with the thrusters and it's larger size it really looks imposing next to some of my other RG kits. I don't regret buying this kit because it does look cool and I will find a way to pose if well, but I feel it was overpriced. I understand that the cost was always going to be higher because it is a larger and more complicated RG kit, but I do think the shoddy design makes the higher price questionable.
The issues, listen in order of when I encountered them:
1. There are cool piston-looking parts in the ankle. These pop out of place under almost any ammoujt of forward bend in the joint. Not super visible but weird mess up.
2. Side thrusters on legs fall off easily and one of the paneling pieces on this broke a little because it wouldn't snap into place easily. Ultimately not noticable but the notch was poorly fitted
3. Theres some bend in the waist as the torso connects to the legs. It's cool design, but the joint isnt tight enough and makes that additional pose-ability moot.
4. The eye section is just underwhelming.
5. The backpack does not connect securely and will fall off the second you touch the model to pose it. Don't even breathe too closely.
5. The pointy bit of the cool black and gold gauntlet looking thing in the wrist interferes with the hands in a way that drastically limits how the model can hold it's weapons. This is the most egregious part of the design, and I would actually find it unforgivable if the suit wasn't saved by just looking badass.
6. Forget about posing this guy with the shield. There just is no good way to do it. It either connects by an extremely loos peg in the shoulder, or by a bracket that attaches on the underside of the forearm. Neither are secure, and both are awkward angles for most shield positions I'd actually want to do.
If you specifically love the Sinanju, go ahead and buy it. It does still look awesome and the time commitment did make me feel better about the cost, but if it's just that it's a big mean red machine with a mono eye and not that it's specifically the Sinanju that catches your fancy, build the Sazabi instead, you'll be happier
A fun build but... The Sinanju is definitely an enjoyable build, but the backpack for it doesn't fit flush at all. The most I can recommend is some sticky tack to hold it in place, but still.
Ambitious but Troubling Buyer beware as the saying goes. In this case, be vary wary of buying this gunpla kit. If you're like me and love to fiddle with your MS and change up their poses that the RG Sinanju does not hold up that well compared to any of the other RG I have, and I have a good deal of them. Only the RG Zeta was more of a hand grenade, and that was because it was a veriable MS, which should tell you just how bad this thing is. My advice: buy it, and glue it together and keep it posed for eternity. An HGUC Sinanju is better for you money honestly.
Looks amazing, falls flat. When the RG Sinanju was announce the hype was immense, but when it released it was all bling and no stability. It uses the RG Gundam MKII MS Frame which was already a good frame, but using it on the Sinanju was a big mistake making the waist flop since they added more plastic onto a premolded frame. Overall this is just for Display and not for posing constantly.
Look, but don't touch The Sinanju looks SO good, especially I painted the yellow parts gold and the thrusters silver. But to pose it, or just trying to play with it, is a disaster. The whole thing is limp, due to the weak inner frame (using the RG Mark II...why?). Put it on a stand with a fixed pose and leave it alone.
He looks pretty, but has a lot of faults. I hate this shield Full frontal mobile suit is pretty awesome. Its a Zeon MS i've always wanted but the price of MG was a bit much, so I decided to get the RG.
Now I have to say building everything was indeed a blast! The quality of the plastic, and making sure the black and gold plastic snap together perfectly is amazing.
However, after building it is the issue.
The Sinanju is really back heavy with its backpack, and considering i've gotten gunpla with display bases, it's a surprise this one didn't.
It doesn't have any mobility or range, so posing is very minimal when you have it on a display. My biggest issue?
is the shield. It's meant to snap onto his forearm, but doesn't stay properly on at all. Its mad frustrating, I can't move it at all. the draft of me walking by it will cause it fall off. You can't just put it on the side arm, because the shoulder booster keep getting in the way.
Like don't get me wrong: it looks great and definitely designed to be a display pose, with all its different ways to shift the boosters. I'm just very disappointed in how like some of my other RGs, all the parts don't stay on properly.
It needs a 2.0 inner frame This kit poses a challenge. Lots of armor, detail, and beauty. This one of the best looking RG kits I've build. LOTS of shiny. The black and gold are gorgeous. The gloss red armor is beautiful. the stickers can be a pain to place correctly, but can be done. I highly recommend using waterslides. The inner frame is just not strong enough to hold all the weight. That said once you pose it leave it be or you will have problems. Parts can pop off if great care is not taken. Despite these flaws it is not a bad kits, but inexperienced builders will have trouble
Great build, but you need an action base The headline speaks for itself. This bad boy can't stand up straight at all. It looks amazing but its lack of posing ability, how back-heavy it is, and the shield never staying on properly makes it a bit tough to recommend this RG over an MG or RG Sazabi
You don’t need cement.
You don’t need paint.
